University of Wisconsin–Madison

LSC Kramer Fund Summer Internship

The LSC Kramer Fund, in partnership with the Department of Medical Microbiology & Immunology at UW-Madison, is offersone award per summer to support a motivated student with an interest in pursuing a career in science.

The selected recipient will participate in an 8-week, paid internship in the Department of Medical Microbiology & Immunology at the University of Wisconsin–Madison, running from June 15 through August 15.

The selected recipient will perform routine laboratory tasks under the close supervision of lab staff. Work will follow well-established procedures, with clear guidance provided for all activities. This role is designed to build foundational skills in a structured environment, where tasks are clearly defined and independent decision-making is minimal. Compensation will follow university guidelines for basic-level student hourly pay.

This opportunity will provide meaningful, hands-on experience in a research setting while supporting students as they explore future pathways in science. We strongly encourage applications from students who have faced barriers to accessing educational resources, as well as anyone who has demonstrated determination and curiosity in pursuing their academic goals despite limited opportunities.
