What inspired you to select your field of study?
I always liked science, especially biology. Having lab experiences in college led me to the fungal world and to go to grad school.
What is one piece of advice you would give to students?
Try to ask questions as much as you can. And ask for help when you’re in trouble.
When you’re not in the lab, how do you spend your time?
Run/walk somewhere in Madison. Or eating ice cream somewhere.
If you didn’t become a scientist, what career would you have pursued?
I would be a teacher.
What is the best meal you’ve ever had?
Dishes from a Michelin restaurant when I attended a wedding in New York.

Studying abroad and I got my PhD in the US.
